Creature Tier
The term tier is used to rank creatures into comparable size categories.
Each fauna class has different maximum and minimum heights possible. Tiers are used to balance these variable size limits allowing species of each class to be compared to each other equally. While classes have specific upper and lower size limits, each species adds or subtracts an additional modifier for gender variance. The largest gender variances ever discovered on species is +0.5 m higher and -0.4 m lower than their base class limits. This tier system defines Tier 1 as being set at this potential maximum/minimum size threshold. Lower tiers are each one tenth of a meter closer to the average class limits. All species assigned to the same tier are equally rare with regard to how far their size is from their class norm. Tier 1 species are exceptionally rare, with each lower tier being encountered more frequently.
Tier | Size | |
---|---|---|
Tier 1 (large) | +0.5 m from class upper range | |
Tier 2 (large) | +0.4 m from class upper range | |
Tier 3 (large) | +0.3 m from class upper range | |
Tier 4 (large) | +0.2 m from class upper range | |
Tier 5 (large) | +0.1 m from class upper range | |
Tier 5 (small) | -0.0 m from class lower range | |
Tier 4 (small) | -0.1 m from class lower range | |
Tier 3 (small) | -0.2 m from class lower range | |
Tier 2 (small) | -0.3 m from class lower range | |
Tier 1 (small) | -0.4 m from class lower range |
For reference, a table listing the upper and lower size limits of each class (before adding/subtracting gender variance) is included here.

Tier 0
Tier 0 is used to describe species from previous game versions which are larger or smaller than their current limits. This means all Tier 0 species are also extinct. Examples include some Rodent, Cow, and Antelope species as those classes used to get up to 8.0m in size. Tier 0 can also be used to describe living species found outside their current size limits, although any examples found are most likely cases of class misidentification.
Additional Information
- Living Trex species will never be found which qualify for a small tier. This is due to the current creature tables which specify all trexes must be carnivores. Previous game versions allowed for trexes to be herbivores, which then allowed for some species to spawn near the lower limit for their class.
- Robotic Antelope species will never be found which qualify for any size tier, large or small, due to their spawn table giving them all a medium base size.
